CARING FOR YOUR ARTWORKS

Do's & Don'ts

Your artwork contains delicate pieces of jewelry set with special glue.  When cleaning, great care must be taken not to damage the jewelry or background material or to compromise the glue.

DON'T

  • use harsh chemicals

  • submerse in water

  • wet the background

  • use standard types of glue to make repairs, it may yellow and damage your artworks



DO:

Jewelry

  • to remove dust, blow on the picture

  • if further cleaning is required, use a "slightly" damp cloth and gently wipe the jewelry

  • contact us for repair instructions in the unlikely event a piece of jewelry becomes detached


Frame

  • wipe with a "slightly" damp cloth to remove dust and dirt

Background Material

  • to remove dust and lint from the background material, roll some tape (cellulose or masking), sticky side out, around your first two fingers, and alternately press and lift the tape on the material.  Alternatively, cut strips of tape, press them on the material and, gently lift them off with the lint.
